Western Buddhist

About

Nice to meet you

My name is Cas. I used to be a Buddhist monk for four months, three of which were in Thailand (Theravada Buddhism). I learned a lot about meditation, Buddhism, and life in general.

I come from a bit of a dark place mentally where I found it hard to be able to enjoy anything that life had to offer. You could say I was a bit disillusioned with how I was meant to find happiness and meaning in the conditioned life I was living.

I stumbled upon the concept of self-improvement, and through it, I found meditation, and through that, I found Buddhism. Those three have had a huge impact on my worldview and they flipped the negative script in my head 180 degrees.

Why did I become a Buddhist monk?

MY MISSION

I wish to convey the knowledge I’ve gathered from my time as a Buddhist monk and as a scholar of meditation and Buddhism to my Western friends. The reason is that I know it can lead to very valuable insights into living a fulfilling, stress-free, meaningful life.

I want to convey mostly the power of meditation to the people that are willing to try it out or are already doing it. Especially to those that are struggling in life. For me, meditation truly was the key to being able to turn things around.
